All About Me

Welcome to my "All About Me" page. I am so thankful that you are here, and showing an interest in my work. This is one of my favorite pictures from our wedding in 2017. (I cannot believe we have been married for 5 years!) Shout out to Chua Lee Photography for taking our stunning pictures! XOXO
 
Bridal makeup is my passion that the Lord has helped me turn into a full-time job as of August 2022. I could not have done it without my sweet husband and my gorgeous sister (she always lets me practice on her). I have been so blessed to have the opportunity to do something that I love.  
 
In high school and early college, I was heavily influenced by "beauty influencers" on YouTube and Instagram. I constantly compared myself to them, and I felt like I couldn't go out in public without a full face of makeup on. Even today, sometimes I still feel like I'm not pretty enough to wear a naked face out in public. But you know what? I am working on feeling more comfortable in my skin and finding confidence in who I am as a woman. 

Over the past couple of years, I have seen how social media distorts true and natural beauty. Most makeup accounts I follow use models that have Botox and lip fillers. Recently, I've had to be super-mindful about how I see myself in the mirror because I catch myself thinking, "I would look so much better if I had lip filler or a different chest." But that is just not the truth. I might feel better for a few days after I got the procedure, but in the long haul, I think the effect would be fleeting. Like buying a new pair of earrings or jeans.

As a believer and follower of Christ, I believe that 2 Corinthians 5:17 sums up why earthly desires become obsolete and unfulfilling. 
 
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come."

I know that the Lord has blessed me to use the gifts that He's given me to glorify Him. My goal is to provide my brides with not only a beautiful makeup application but to encourage them for the beautiful woman they are. That is why I LOVE my job. When my bride feels gorgeous inside and out, I feel like I've won the lottery.
